First class female sale prices

I've never been to the sale and I was wondering if everything was super high or if you could buy a heifer under 2000ish

Bred heifers at sale barns are pushing $2k per head.

Highly doubt it

In my opinion and experience from going to sales is that you are not getting a very good animal for that price. Look up the what you would do different post on here and it will give you some good info.

results past few if any under 3,000 that you would want.  This year, I wouldn't be surprised if none brought under 3,500 maybe even 4,000 they have a super nice set this year.

I don't mean to highjack the thread, but how do the pregnancy's usually sell?

Look at Griswolds sale, better deals.

I purchased two from last year's sale.  One bred heifer and then I did get a bred cow for two grand.  I had some info on her and knew it was a good buy at that price.  She was a late lot and that helped.  Her first calf paid for her.

Looking at this year's sale, I'll bet you can pick a bred up for around three grand.  There are always, it seems, a few in that range at most sales.  Granted, this appears to be a very good set.

I'd call one of the consigners.  They will be happy to talk to you about your budget and what they have that may be in your range.  I highly recommend talking to Nick Reimann - I think he will shoot straight with you, and won't waste your time taking animals that are out of your price range.

I would also try to talk to Kirk Roecher to see what he will be offering in his bred sale this year. IMO there may be more bang for your buck there and more emphasis on maternal genetics. JMO.
