fitting tail day of show.

what is the "new" hot thing to do with the tail of calves. Ball? Rat?

I've been wondering also!  I've heard / seen balled up tails making a come back??? Yuck!

We show angus and we ball our heifers tails!

This is one area where the breed makes all the difference in the world! Right now, the trend for limis and lim-flex is a natural looking switch, just trimmed up and shaped with a clipper into kind of a subtle bell -little to no adhesive used. Also, it seems to be on trend to leave the switch on bulls significantly longer than with a heifer or steer. Not sure if this is a good thing or not, it can really add a lot of visual years on the wrong bull.

I think the current trend that is most widespread is not the old school ball, but a bell.  But definately takes some ratting and a good helping of adhesive.
