by placing a straight topline ,clean front end good moving calf ,you are rewarding the breeder and the owner of the bull for producing a quality animal . The other half of the deal is a heifer . What is happening to them . Because they are bred up for club calves does that mean they are all going to the feed lot ?If that was the case you'd just run them all across the scale and the biggest wins. This grand isn't as deep in the round as I like , but hey I'am a commercial producer.

Great looking steer, been some talk about steers walking, he doesn't have as straight a hind leg as typical show steers but maybe that helps him walk  better . I think he he looks very good .. What IS THE STORY AN PICTURE OF reserve , he didn't  look to shabby either ...

If we were judging the cattle for terminal abilities, then why judge them on foot, just cut their heads off and judge them on the rail. Its a show, and truthfully soundness is what seperates good cattle from average ones. With 2,000 steers it is definately hard to find something to seperate the top 5 in a class that has 10 that could win a lot of different shows.

On another note, the champion was a stud (clapping), i loved him, and loved that the judge used a smokey one. The reserve on the other hand, well lets just say i wasn't a fan. Thought the champion middleweight was a damn good one too, would'nt have blamed the guy for using him even though he was only bout 1235.

What were yalls thoughts on that reserve? If you didnt make it to Ft. Worth, you might've seen him when he won the Fall Classic
