Last time we used to generator it didnt work right. We had it out in March at a show and we had two blowers hooked up  to it and it kept tripping the breakers. the generator is 6000 running watts and 7500 surge watts. Now I believe the the blowers are 19 amps and 115 volts. To find watts you have to multiply amps times volts as i understand if you round 19 to 20. You get 2300 watts for two blowers it ends up being 4600 watts and the generator should be able to handle it. I remember before the winter we put some stable in it. The stable is supposed to keep it "healthy" through the winter. I was wandering if that made it weaker or if anybody could think of why it isnt working right.

Are you running them both on the same circuit (breaker)?  Often you have to buy or build yourself a cord to plug into the RV type outlet to run one of your blowers off of.  I don't see how the Stabil would affect the electrical capacity, unless your motor is running poorly since you used it.

The 19 amps is once the motors are running. It takes more power to start the motor then keep it running. The start up or max amp is actually 10.8 amps per motor then if you have a heater add the amps for that and you are quite a bit higher then the 20 amp circuit on most generators. To prevent problems on either barn or generator power turn on one motor at a time and let them get to speed then turn on the heater. Other factors that most people over look is gauge of wire and length of run on extension cords. Since the dryers are running almost max circuit load if shows would require a minimum of 12 gauge wire in cords there would be fewer power problems since you lose wattage running longer runs and heavier cords carry it better. 50 foot or less I run 12 gauge wired cord any further than that to about 100 foot I run 10 gauge cord.

We show at several fairs and jackpots around the midwest and use a generator practically daily. We carry a 8000 watt unit to run a Sullivan double blower setup and up to 3 fans. Our blower must have a separate 30 amp circuit for each unit. My experience is these blowers run at 20 to 25 amps each and will start on a 20 amp circuit , but will not run for long. I replaced a 20 amp breaker with a 30 amp breaker and have had no issues since. I believe the companies that build the generators do not intend these units to be run at full capacity for long periods of time.
