She calved unassisted early this morning 33 hours after induction.  Beautiful silver heifer, but of course I wanted a bull :)

Here is the situation.  I have a cow bred to HeatWave that is due on Thursday.  We have to leave Sunday night or early Monday morning for the State Fair.  My thought was to induce her with Lut and Dex Thursday if she hasn't had the calve so I could be there to pull it before I leave. I know its not ideal but what are your thoughts? (argue)

May seem unorthodox but put her in a trailer and drive around for awhile.  In the last couple years, I've had 3 incidents, where cows that were still a couple weeks out, calved within 12 hours of being unloaded.  I didn't do this intentionally but,,, after what I've experienced, I think there's something to it.  If you're cattle are fairly accustomed to being loaded/unloaded, then it might not be as stressful of a situation ie won't cause them to go into labor.
