i know dave used to say when he was with show chow, fat first, fat wins and fat sells. he sold it. but in selling calves myslef, the fatter fluffier ones are easier to sell than the "green ones".

What are they feeding to get the calves to put on so much mass in just 2 months?

Gettin one on full feed will add a lot of mass and bloom to a young one in a hurry. But the real kicker in the deal is dropping temps and bein under fans all day. Hair will add a lot of "mass" to one too! Great set of cattle and a great sale for the Guyer crew. They get it right year in and year out!

I understand the steer is going to the Kuesel family in Iowa. This is the family that won 3rd overall at the Iowa State Fair this past summer with another Char steer. Will be interesting to see how this one turns out.

Ya the char this year was out of their herd bull and a Northern Improvement cow I believe. At least that is what they stated during the broadcast on MLC. It was an awesome steer. Will be interesting if semen for sale or possible already is..
