Yes, this is correct. Heatseeker's mother was a purebred Shorthorn cow bred at Mantua Farms, Powell, Wyoming. I believe she was sired by AF Improver 145. I remember seeing her at Mantua many years ago. She was very moderate framed, thick and hairy... that is, she was pretty clubby looking.

Heatwave dam is Ma x Ang x Ca. Heatseeker dam is a shorthorn cow F100937. With your connections in the ASA you should be able to get a pedigree

If Heat Seekers mother was sired by AF Deerpark Improver who was sired by Deerpark Improver 3684142........the Improver bull was a DS carrier. It would be interesting to know if Heat Seeker or Heat Wave was a DS carrier. Maybe that is part of the reason Heat Wave stamped out the club calf type as such a monumental sire.

I believe that someone posted a picture of an All Aboard calf that had the DS defect. All Aboard is a flush mate to Monopoly.

I saw Heat Seeker when he was just a few days old at Vince Graham's farm north of Leon, Iowa, at side of his dam.  His dam was indeed an Improver 145 from Mantua.  I think Vince was related to them somehow.  She was pretty square hipped, very moderate, and appeared to have plenty of hair.  Heat Seeker himself was very moderate, very square, and extremely hairy.  Vince told me the day I saw him he already had him sold for a pretty good price.
