It is with much regret and sadness that I report that the cattle industry has lost a true leader, pioneer, and a man of integrity. Llody Jungman of Hawkeye Breeders died this morning.
He was a true  friend of the cattle industry and always had a kind word and smile at the Iowa Beef Expo. At the age of 80+ you could still find him with a testicle measuring tape at the expo checking in bulls. The check in aisle in the barn will be a sad place this year with his absence.
He loved life and loved his job.
Heaven got a good one today.

Your right Jen. He made everyone feel like an old pair of comfortable shoes. He will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and friends. Brent

OMG we stopped at Hawkeye yesterday, saw Lloyd, but didn't get to say much. Sorry to hear this.

Llyod Jungmann arrangements:  Funeral Monday, Feb 2, 11AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 602 S 14th St, Adel, IA.  Visitation after 10AM Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home, 735 S 14th St, Adel, IA.

We received word of his passing on Thursday morning, Jan 29th, so you probably didn't see him on Friday at the Bull Stud.  His health has been poor for quite some time now, due to his battle with cancer.  The cattle industry has lost a pioneer in his field.  Our symapthy to his family.

so sorry for the IA breeders. It has been a rough winter/fall for the cattle industry.

Thats kinda ironic because I was just thinking how he was doing ,when we took our Freddy bull over there because we were having trouble getting him collected . He left a very good impression an that was why I remembered him. He sure did us a good job an this has been quite a while ago.
