The Shorthorn bulls sold well at the Douglas Test Station in Manitoba. Maybe someone can post the results. I thought it would be interesting for everyone to guess the price of the high seller and his color and birth weight range. Also whether he was sold commercial or purebred. <beer>

High seller, would have to go to a commercial guy.  I would say bw over 100, and color...roan.

I wont spoil the game, but I will say that the bulls were very well recieved by commercial guys.  They averaged 3389 on nine bulls sold.  Lots of people at the sale, and the Shorthorns soll as well or better than any other breed.  They were the only bredd that every bull offered, sold and for substantiallly more than the floor price.  Good job, well done!!

Since it is interesting enough to run a poll on, I am going to say the bull was white, bw over 100 and sold to a commercial man, and on top of this he probably also was horned and a th carrier! <beer>

I am gonna have to disagree about the TH part very few Canadians sell TH carrier bulls white and horned is still a possibility though ;)

If a white, horned bull is good enough, he'll sell  ;) And generally if he's white and horned, well, he must have been good to escape the knife!

I agree with ya, if he escaped the knife he must be a good skamp!  But around here, even if a white horned bull was the most outstanding individual under the sun, he would sit there in my pasture until he was old enough to vote and I'd never get him sold.  There is a widespread case of colorblindness in western Nebraska.  It's hard enough for me to get my commercial guys to try red ones.  It is catching on and it's easier now than it ever has been but nobody's ready for a white one!

White cept for 6 red spots, bwt 190#. ET out of a heifer who has never had a natural calf. The cow never got a taste of grass and has been on full feed her life. The only time she got grass was when she got out of her heated air conditioned paddock by accident. Sold for 40,000 to 5 commercial cow people. Nothing but et going back 7 generations.....no natural selection what so ever.  <beer>

Hi all, can i play the game too! but i will disqualify me as i was there and had lots of money to spend... runner up on the high selling, got one bought 4000.00 chased 3 others over 3000.00. Good bulls  and Ivan and his crew at the Centre do  a great job of gettin bulls to gain and still stay sound! Bulls were nice and clean. The high gaining Shorthorn was also High gainer overall breeds! The high seller  had some good Glenford breeding , Fulton and FourPoint, with shot of Rodeo Drive, Improver,Lancer andMist
