Here's the deal.

A- I don't really give two rats nuts about what two old timing liars (ok story tellers) from Canada, and one of them's daughter's think about me, or a bunch of people on an online forum; especially when 90% of them gear their entire operation around producing, (or buying) one great, double or triple dirty carrier, hair ball, steer calf.
B- Darned neared every Shorthorn animal in the USA possesses Trump in it's pedigree.  What does that exclude?  About a half dozen Candians, a Scotch, and a pair of Aussies that visit here.  And what do I know, I bet those operations and gone through the Trump ordeal as well.  As to the Amercian (USA) people who think I ridicule the great Trump himself...  I'll just leave it with- he is Trump, actions speak louder than words.  Yup he'll work from those who think he works.

C-What we raise really is very little concern of anyone else's.  We produce what we need to generate a profit, and have the cattle pay for themselves- and put a little extra in the pocket...  Does color matter to me- not a bit; unless I am sending directly to the sale barn; and then they better be black.

If you don't care then why did you take the time to post?
And if 90% of the forum are mindless folks why do you come here and post?
As one of the famed lines from the Jerry Springer Show- You don't know me, you don't know me.

I like to start arguements, and get people all razzled up.. I also don't have anything to do but sit her dick off on the computor, watch re-runs of NCIS, play with Tinker-Belle (the dog) and make fun of my skankiest roommate- who's newest flavor of the week is here as we speak...

I find it quite amusing that if you look back over this thread, there is no one who has told the Truth that what he is doing is wrong. In fact several of us have told him to produce what works for him. Yet, he seems to profess to be the  Savior of the Beef business, and not only does he continue to tell us that the cattle we raise and the people who buy our cattle are just totally wrong.I really have no idea how someone so young could possibly know  so much!  It must be book smarts he is dumping on us as he certainly hasn't had enough years of experience to gain this much knowledge.  I suspect that some of us have probably raised and sold more bulls in the past decade than he wil probably sell in his lifetime, but that doesn't matter... we are all wrong.  For a young man, he seems to have  very sourand spitful personality, and I honestly have to wonder what could make a person so young so cynical and quit frankly,  obnoxious. I don't know you Jody, but I can tell you this much just from observing your behavior on SP, and that is, you have already alienated many people who have already made a mental note to never buy cattle from you as it could end up being an unpleasant experience. I think you will eventually find out that the cattle business is as much a people business as anything, and people tend to buy cattle from people they like. So, I would like to give you some fatherly advice, seeing I am one of the old liars you referred to.... and this advice is be careful how many bridges you burn.. some day you may need one of them.
I am sorry to also let you down by telling you that I will not  give you negative karma. That is what you are striving for, and I won't help you achieve goal of the lowest karma on the planet.

sweet... about how many Shorthorn breeders are in AU, with how many head?

There are 343 stud breeders in Australia, whose cow herds range from 1 to over 2000 head of registered cattle. We have many more commercial members.

What I don't understand is you say what you raise is no one else's business & you raise whatever kind it takes to make a profit. Yet , you & a couple of other people on here crucify other Shorthorn breeders for doing the same thing.
I think it's great whenever a Shortie  bull tops a feedout test or a Shorthorn plus wins Supreme at L'ville ,etc. Because it brings attention to the breed & hopefully everyone will benefit in some way or another. I just hate it when the attention we get is for being known because of the bickering amongst ourselves. Especilly when for the most part it seems like the negativity continues to come from the same people.

atta boy.. pay yourself on the back...  I have a life goal to not depend on my cattle to live from...  They are more of a hobby to me.. I could care less if I sell another single bull in my lifetime.  Honestly, I could care less if I sell a single beef animal to anything other than market during those same years.. The ones I have sold in the past, are more to help out others.

All I can say, is that those cows sure consume quite a bit more grass than my sheep do, and do it much easier.. good and bad- just kick them out and forget about em... gather up the calves at 6 months or so.. and go to town.

Naw, I wouldn't say that.. I would phrase it more as, we crusify people who's programs are centered around producing stock that consistantely doesn't work.  We more so discourage the mentailty of people who do not practice what they preach..  You know like the people who say that certain bloodlines are really needed, and are the future-- yet they don't go to the sale to support it...  We also fight a constant battle against the all empowering MAFIA!

well, truth, your last comments tell me everything I need to know. I happen to make my living from my cows so I have to pay very close attention to what  do and what  I produce . You can have you opinion about what kind of cattle you want to raise, and you can chose any bloodlinesyou want to use, but you have NO right to tell anyone else how to manage their business or dump on anyone else' success.  I have absolutely no problem with anyone working off farm to support their cattle operation and support their families.Everyone has to do whatever they need to do to design the lifestyle they want to have.  For someone who never cares if they ever sell a bull, you certainly have lots of wisdom to  give to us that do.  I think every community seems to have a few people likeyou and I often have said there  should be a organization established for people like you. It could be called CAVE.. which stands for "Citizens Against Virtually Everything". You could be the youngst President of this group in history!!
