I was feeding show chow and needed more intake. Put them both on half and half and up the steers by 10 to 15 lbs per day. I seriously think chow is better. It has worked well the past couple of years. Just depends on the calf your feeding I guess. Hope this helps ya out! <rock>

I prefer Kent Show Feeds.  We build our own rations with Kent's Beef show blender and love the results.  We also feed Winning Fill on the side with excellent results.

I think both are honestly good feeds...I think Dr Jason Cleere from A&M says it best.  All of these companies have nutritionist on staff building these rations, so honestly all of the different brands are gonna be a lot more similar than a lot of people want to admit.  The most important thing is finding a ration that A) you can afford to commit to and stick with B)your calf eats well and C) that you are always feeding fresh feed.  If you are only feeding 1 calf, you probably dont need to buy feed in large quantities because some of it will get old, stale, and possibly mold.  Not only does old feed have potential for health issues, it isnt as palatable and your cattle wont eat it as well.
You also need to make sure you talk with your feed dealer.  If you are the only person buying a particular feed from him then you want to make sure that he isnt getting 2 or 3 tons in at a time, ask him to only order what you can feed in a week.  I dont know of a feed dealer that isnt getting a truck at least once a week so this shouldnt be that difficult...I personally dont like to keep a bag of feed more than a couple weeks, just to insure that I am always feeding my calves a quality, fresh feed.

We used to feed Evergreen which is also Kent until they closed down their Ft Worth plant. We now feed Honor Show Chow. Like them both, feed what you can get fresh.

It varies with the animal.  Some get a pound or two and some get considerably more.  But I always start to increase amounts as a show nears to 5 or more lbs.  I just like the way most of them eat it and love the results.  It really is a feed that you need to introduce and experiment with at home to make sure they will eat the amounts you want and get the results you need.  How much you feed depends on what you are feeding in a grain mix or bagged feed and what kind of hay you feed free chioice or hand feed.  I always start winning fill at a pound or two per feeding and increase as necessary.  Try it out and see how it fits with the rest of your feeding program.  I think you will like the results.
