haul them to the stock yard, take whatever you get and invest that money in proven 4-5 yr old cows of your choice breed and standards and start building, within 5-7 years, keeping back all the heifers you have, you can have a nice size herd of cows that make you happy and hopefully make you money <cowboy>

I can confidently say that if I were starting over again today (been out of the business for 5 years)I would want the same five high percentage Maine-Anjou cows, and the four double registered Maine/Simmi cows that I sold. I truly believe I could easily combine a few of these newer genetics with those from 15- 20 years ago and produce some mighty nice Show Heifers and Breeding Bulls. I also would keep doing it the old fashioned way, AIing without sync, and no flush/embryo work. As our family learned many years ago, KISS (keep it simple stupid) is most often the most effective process.

Plus heifer to OK that has been grand once and won her class at Kansas City. I not out yet!!!! I'm just gettin started!!!
