Was wondering who y'all use for insurance, and what does it cover? If a cow dies calving does it cover her? Just wondering, don't have many clubbies left, and would like to cover my butt.

Most standard insurance companies will offer a livestock inland marine or floater policy.  Typically these types of policies insure you for fire and lightning, cyclone, tornado or windstorm, hail, explosion, riot or civil commotion, aircraft, falling objects, smoke, earthquake, flood, Collision, derailment or overturn of a vehicle on which the insured property is being transported; Collision with other vehicles except those owned or operated by insured or by any tenant of insured; Theft excluding by escape or mysterious disappearance.  Additional coverages can be purchased for an additional premium which include: Drowning, Artificial Electricity, Collapse of Building. Vandalism or Malicious mischief and Attack by dogs or wild animals.  A specialty carrier may provide the coverage you are looking for but the cost might outweigh the benefit.

Our higher valued animals get covered with mortality coverage through American Livestock.  We've had coverge through this company for years and it has paid without question on losses-simply need a vet's inspection.

Drop me a pm if you need more information; our agency at the bank is now a licensed agent.

This covers all perils and also if an animal has a terminal illness and needs put down. It's not the cheapest insurance, but we used it at least until the high priced critters have paid for themselves.
