I have seen both bulls...Navigator only once, and Patent several times. Both are very bulls. I think I have only seen a couple Navigator calves and they were moderate, thick and sound. Probably not hairy enough to make the US shows, but that doesn't concern me.Navigator is thick, very well muscled and very smooth made. he looks like a beef bull that will calve good.
I have 5 Patent daughters in my herd and they look like they are going to make excellent females. Four have had their first calves this spring and they have excellent udders and milk well. The 5th is a yearling heifer and she is going to make a very good one as well. I am very impressed with these females for their ability to stay in condition while raising a calf. So far every one of these heifers has gained weight on pasture but we will reserve judgement until weaning time. They are also very fertile. The Patent sons i have seen are moderate framed with great muscle shape and they are sound.I am a huge fan of Waukaru Orion 2047, the Patent son Waukaru is using in their herd. I liked him enough that I have purchased 2 syndicate shares in him and plan on using him heavily in our ET . I personally like Orion more than Patent at the same age, and I  really liked him!

Navigator would be the more proven bull right now. His calves in the feedlot kick butt. I would say the patent calves would to but I don't think enough calves have run the course yet. Navigator puts a lot of rib eye into the calves and they grow.

Think ya missed it here TG.  Patent has around 150 registered calves to Navigators 80ish. Patent is less than a year younger. 07 to 08.

I believe that. I've seen his Flushmate T4 and he's a heavily muscled meat machine.  He's an easy 6.5frame 2300lb bull

Well I guess it doesn't matter. I just assumed that Origen carried patent semen like all of the other waukaru bulls. Unless I missed his semen being sold elsewhere looks like navigators the bull.

There is no Patent semen available on the open market. Shadybrook has possession and a few more syndicate shares have been sold. Sprys in Australia have the Aussie rights. Waukaru kept an interest for use in their own herd, and there have been a few others sold.

In Denver I preferred the flushmate to Patent "top shelf" ... he just looked deeper sided to me? It looked as though he bred that way from the looks of the set that Waukauru sold two years ago. YOu might try to purchase Top Shelf semen? The numbers do look more attractive on the Patent or Top Shelf bulls but as I have said before - Naviagtor  in person is a chunk. The  ( sh x angus) Naviagator daughters of Gary & Bonnie Housh ( A&T's inlaws) were drop dead gorgeous ! I cannot comment on the quality of udders from the Nav females.  Shady maple or Galbreath probably can shed some light on udder quality.

Here is the oldest son of Waukaru Patent out of a RB Eagle cow.  He will be three in August.
