Interesting.  I'm not going to be in Denver, but a couple of Steer Planet posters took one of my heifers.  They arrived earlier tonight, tied her out & went to the hotel.  They might check it out.  They are stalling with Glen Benjamin & Janis Black.

Justin is just a couple pens from us and he's been pretty busy. There are some very nice percentage cattle here, including the GC heifer from the NILE, Supreme champ from KC (or Louiseville?) and both are RED!

I hope you can to! there is starting to be alot of competition in the percentage shows..

Not a percentage... it's a fullblood heifer.

I do have really nice a percentage heifer (Lowline X Maine X Shorthorn X Angus) that was 2nd in class to that Supreme Champ Heifer, despite being 3 weeks younger at not even 6 months old at the time.  She's sired by Bruzer's full brother.  Mine's not nearly as green right now & she's fancy, fancy.  I didn't know that my Fullblood was going to be the only one going at the time of entry or I would've entered them both.  Not saying it would be any different at Denver, as that red heifer was extremely powerful, but I'd like to see a rematch.  ;)  Maybe next fall as breds.

Sounded like it when I talked to him earlier.  I am wishing that I could see them because Justin said that there are some pretty impressive animals in that string he's working on, including my partnership heifer.  Something about them looking like smaller Heatwaves & Paddy O'Malley's.       In all serious, Glenn Benjamin & Janis Black always have some "real good uns", so maybe he's not too barn blind.  I haven't seen my partnership heifer since the NAILE, but it sounds she's a powerhouse right now.  They have another heifer in the same class that is also real good...she's slightly more refined & she really looks sharp after being clipped up.  Sounds like they've got both types covered.  It will be interesting to see how they do.  Hopefully they can do well enough to get the judge to slap J&K Windy Holliday.  ;)  A lot of good competition though & I know that it will be tough.

BTW, best wishes with your Bluey's, except against Windy.  ;)  Hope that you do well.

Thanks for the pics!  She looks pretty thick for a 7 month old heifer.  BTW, I had a chance to buy her dam's full brother from Janis in Denver in 06, for pennies on the $$.  Didn't do it because he was really young & I knew I wouldn't be able to use him very much at all that year.  Anyway, he won Res. Champion Bull!  The next year he did it again & sold for $15,000!!  Oh well...

Well, she got smoked!  8th in my class.  I didn't see her at all after the NAILE & I wasn't at Denver, so I am not exactly sure why the judge didn't like her.  I just know how she placed.  She beat 2 fullblood heifers (MCR Findon's Montana Queen & MCR Sexy Pants) in her class at the NAILE that went on to Denver & placed 1st & 2nd in their class.  Also one of the 2 heifers that beat her at the NAILE went on to win Reserve Grand Champion at the NAILE & she was named National Champion at Denver.  The judge at the NAILE said that my heifer could've been used in 1st place in that class, so I thought that my heifer was pretty decent & that she had a really good shot at doing something at Denver.  Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how I did at Denver...  I got stomped!    ;)

If you call a spade a spade during the good, you gotta call a spade a spade during the bad too.

BTW, the Zeffirelli son that I bred my best 2 fullblood Lowline females too & my Shorthorn heifers too, beat the bull that won National Champion at Denver, in their class at the NAILE, so that was very encouraging to see.  (thumbsup)
