What are everyone's thoughts on Kappes Pendleton B6? Semen only available though owners.

Soon as he sold I emailed about semen and just now here a month ago it was released?

So did he not freeze or were they using it themselves? I really like his pedigree and these reds and RWF cattle are hot. May still get some for next year.

I just bought some and received it last week.  From talking with one of the owners, that didn't have a huge inventory at this point and it seemed to be moving fairly quickly.  I will be using some of it soon on a couple of fall calvers.  I hope they turn out well!

I really like the bull. We asked about semen late this summer. They said the inventory was low and they turned him out on cows. I'll check again in the spring.

I have always liked this dude, and he was on my list to use. But I haven't seen any calves from him yet.

We've had a few calves out of Pendleton....they have come small and full of vigor.  No complaints on the calving ease side.  The calves all show good depth and soundness all around with the exception of the trend to slightly toe out, especially in the rear legs.  Not a big issue but definitely something that is noticeable when showing cattle.  The calves are also very moderate in size, maybe a tick smaller than we like them.  But good, functional cattle for sure.

What do you consider to be moderate?  I have a neighbor that wouldn’t give a second look at a 6 frame pud. Does he make them soft, deep and wide?  I don’t look for my performance to only come from frame size. Just curious.

Anything less than 5 is to moderate for me. I like 5.5. If I'm gonna feed em I need to like looking at them. Lol
