In a previous thread ( Shorty heifer bulls) I was asked to take some pictures of the Kildysart cows I got in Minnesota a few weeks ago. Here are some of them. I will try to get some of the others another day. I have also posted a picture of HC Bar Code 16X ET by Pheasant Creek Leader 4th ( by Kinnaber Leader 6th) and out of B Good Red Sue 1P, and a picture of a Touchdown bull calf that happened to be in this pasture.

The full Irish cow is sired by Deerpark Dividend and she has a big November bull dragging on her, so she is the thinnest of these cows. This bull calf is intensely inbred, as he is sired by her ET son by Deerpark Leader 20th, so there is generations of Kildysart bloodlines in his genetic make-up. He is sold to some Australian breeders, and he will be collected here and semen sent to Australia early next year. This cow and her daughter by Leader 20th will also be flushed for Australia, and one of the sires to be used will be Mandalong Super Flag.

A couple of these cows are out of the Deerpark Kildysart 25th and sired by a son of Pa Do Central Avenue.

3  Kildysart sisters on pasture

HC Bar Code 16X ET - 75 lb BW  He is a blend of older and todays bloodlines and he is an example of what I want to produce in volume.

Shadybrook Perfection 36S on pasture. He is very very easy fleshing and I love his muscle pattern. The roan cow is a Major Leroy daughter. The cow in the background is by Diamond Captain Mark 27C.
Perfection is a THF son of Shadybrook Centurion and Shadybrook Picture 210M by Trump. He has two crosses of Rodeo Drive as well as Trump and he is as easy fleshing as they come. He is another bull that has gained weight while in the breeding field.

I forgot to add the pic of the Deerpark Leader 20th ET daughter of the Dividend Kildysart cow. She is a coming two year old and she is bred to her flushmate full brother. Could be interesting or pretty scary!
The 3 cows pictured are:  B Good Red Sue 1P,second cow is  a daughter of WF Player ( she has sons working in PB herds in Missouri and ND), third cow ( roan) HC Lady Louisa 12T ET ( a flushmate sister to Touchdown) and HC Lady Sophia 7N ( she topped the Fever sale at $7500 and sold to Fantasy Lane in Ontario. She was left here to be flushed and she has been an outstanding donor with offspring in 4 countries now.

The Touchdown bull calf was born March 26 and had a 90 lb BW out of a Salute daughter. He has not had any creep feed.

JIT, They look good. Kildysarts are good cattle. I've still got some Mick x Kildysart eggs in the tank. I got them from James Stanley in GA. They were out of a direct Irish import. Fact is I had worked out a deal to flush her. When I got to Calhoun,GA to meet him at a sale to pick her up the Gov't had impounded her due to the mad cow scare in Europe. As being she was from EU , they ended up putting her down. I know at the same time they called us , because we had at one time or another owned some direct Irish imports. I think the Moores' in IL had a major go around with them when they came to get their Castletroy Linda cow.

Jit,

Thanks for posting pictures of these bloodlines.  I had no idea what to expect.  I like the Touchdown calf too!

Hey JIT, How many of those Kildysarts are full Irish? I like the Bar Code bull also.

Just two are full irish - the Dividend cow and her Deerpark Leader 20th ET heifer. These cows all go back to a full Irish cow and her daughter that were purchased in S Carolina about 10-15 years ago. I think three of the daughters are sired by a grand son of Fifth Avenue. They were going to be shipped to market as the owner is turning the farm over to his son, and he has no interest in cattle. I thought there was some usefulness in these cows and time will tell.
Like I said earlier in this post, I am really liking Bar Code. Not too many yearling bulls can breed 29 heifers and gain weight doing it, aqnd today I turned another 8 cows and a few recips in with him to clean up. If he continues to hold his condition for the next few weeks, I will pull him and see if he can be shown in November. He has the best temperament and is ultra quiet. I can halter him in the pasture.
