Why do all these club calf bulls die so young?

RIP, MAB.
I hope he got to spend some time outside, out on some hillside under a tree surrounded by his calves, like common bulls.

It is only over priced when people won't pay the price their asking, as long as people are willing to pay for it it is not over priced.

Therefore in my mind it's over priced if I'm the one writing the check, since you put it that way

He wasn't bred to be maternal and live forever like some of the maternally bred Bulls. They were bred to look pretty and die imo

Whether you liked him or not, or used him or not, or think the semen price is too high... is your personal preference. You don't have to purchase it.. !   On a personal level, MAB wasn't just a bull to me. He had a kind and gentle demeanor and most everyone that ever worked with him, including myself had a soft spot for him. His great demeanor has carried over into most of his offspring and for many people made breaking a calf fun and easy.!  I hope that my friends Man Among Boys and Greg Bernhardt are enjoying walking thru a beautiful green pasture together in their after-life!!!  I will proudly put my name on here unlike some who want to be so" brave " with their opinions and hide behind a user name. Karol, I don't think anyone was disrespecting MAB, just creating conversation. The price of the semen was high, in comparison to other bulls, because it was a better product in the eyes of the sellers and purchasers. And it will continue to rise because the supply is now limited. Simple supply and demand.

Also I won't "hide behind a username", (?)

Yeah no joke way to get sensitive, that escalated quickly

Like you said it's a preference, the bull doesn't make cattle that slick they just don't work, so yes in this part of the word he's not as much of a valued commodity. Nobody was making fun of your friend mab

There's a pretty darn good MAB calf up here in Iowa making the rounds this year shown by Keaton Otto. He's more than double the points ahead of the next closest steer shown by Macey Goretska and has 12 supreme wins compared to the next two closest at 3 wins apiece. When he works, he works very well. I know nothing about the slick sheared world.
