if a maine says he's 100%-- then it's got to be a fullblood, correct?  No other way I can think of.

I'm a familiar with that pedigree which is linebred to the "Teacher" cow. She is primarily a solid red cow and does not have the traditional markings of a Maine Anjou. Why did you ask about the 100%?

looks like some parentage verification has been done.

traditionally, the amaa does not require 100% parentage verification, while the cmaa does.

at some point, i will verify some of the nor tex cattle in that pedigree as i have some semen.

nice to see someone with a little bit different pedigree.

I ask about the 100% deal, b/c I have never seen it before in a Maine's pedigree, and I thought the fullbloods had some kind of distinction.

The pedigree, I have no idea about, and other than one or two bulls-- have never heard anything about any of the animals listed.  It's all new to me.

As of last night- I bought a heifer- who's sired by a son- of the bull I listed above (I am 95% certain this is her sire as my friend isn't always the best with remembering names and numbers on pedigrees).

The daughter I purchased, is sired by this bull 425437 .  I have not seen the heifer, but she's part of a group-- and he knows what I like.  I was assured that she fits the bill...

When the time comes for her first calf: I'm very likely going to breed her to one of the following bulls, 415117 or 409505  .  More than 99% certain to the 2nd bull-- as I think the first has been shipped and was not ever collected.  If I do decide to breed her red Maine-- I'm thinking about trying to work her back up to purebred Maine status-- but keep them red.  That would be neat as hell, I to think.

Nice to see shorthorns and Maines still mixing.

the 2nd bull is going to breed a TON of shorthorn cows in the next couple of years.  He's pretty neat.
