The Roger bull Maternal Perfection, sired by Irish Whiskey, came out in 2013, I believe.

Whom among you had Maternal Perfection calves last year, and how did they turn out (and out of what type of cows)?  Or has anyone seen and Maternal Perfection calves and how are they?

Also, wondering where I might find a mature photo of Maternal Perfection on the web.

Thanks  :)

Anybody have info on what the birth weights are looking like?
I'll have one in a month and can let you know how it ends up.

Gargan was giving me some info last year on some he had/seen. I know he told me one was 90Lbs 7 days late and the rest hadn't been born yet. Maybe he can chime in with some info on how they are progressing.

I had 2 mp calves last year. Both bull calves. Both were right in the 85-90# range. They had some look to them , good bone and beautiful rib shape and depth. They grew well also. One didn't quite have the hair to make a show steer but weaned off in late Oct at 700# off a grizzly x homer cow. The other actually made a real pretty profiling show steer. I'll try to find a pic of him. He could have used a Lil more power but was a pretty good steer. All the others I've seen has had lots of body and bone as well. Good all around bull IMO.

We just had one heifer calf by MP last spring out of a 3/4 blood Sim Angus cow by DJ Solution.  78# Birth Weight.  285 day gestation.  Really nice heifer!  Big ribbed. Sound. Easy feeding kind and nice temperament.  She sold to Oklahoma and will be showing this spring.
Now if we could just get Rogers to finish getting him registered as a Foundation Sire with the Simmental Association ...

Had a heifer calf last night. Its out of an Hereford x Angus first calf heifer. Weighed 65 pounds, very lively. I was nervous about the birth weight getting big, the mothers sire is the Hereford bull 'Thor' who is a heavier birth weight more power type Hereford bull. So I'm happy. I'm not sure I'd say he's heifer safe but he worked here.

last year we had a set of twins out of him(bull and a heifer), and then another bull and another heifer. All out of angus cows. The twin bull is a tank and the other bull is more of a prettier calf, but he still has a lot of power. The twin heifer was a free martin so she went to the feed lot, and the other heifer is really nice and we are keeping her as a replacement.

This year we have had another set of calves(bull and heifer again :'( ) and another bull calf that is a little walking tank. all have come unassisted and get up quickly are are really active.

I just had my first one last Friday out of a PB sim cow.  Calf was 5 days late and weighed 88 pounds.  As of right now im really liking the calf, he has good hair, power and bone, with a nice profile.

This is our Maternal Perfection bred heifer that was the champion Maine heifer at the Black Hills Stock Show yesterday. We think she will be a tremendous cow for her new owners.
