I'm not an expert on this bull for sure as we've only had a few calves.  We used him on some pb simmi cows that had some frame.    Overall, I was not impressed with what we got from him.  He might have downsized frame just a touch and I thought he took away some thickness.  I'm not saying he won't work for you on your angus cows, I just know that he did not work for us.

we used him a couple times on maintainer heifers, no problem calving them and they were our highest weaning calves...just didn't have the "show look" we wanted.  AND of course I had all bull calves so its hard to say, I was wanting heifers for the kids out of him.

We had all bulls too..  so maybe he puts some better heifers on the ground.

Only have had one...out of this OCC bred Angus donor.  Nice heifer, but not a world beater.  Won't re-breed this cow to Mama's Boy.

I would think that if the Momma's Boy's calves were world beaters we'd have heard more about them, but it could be that old fact that there just really are no run away bulls in the Simi sires. Some 1/2 bloods that we hear more about are SOS, Maximus, Mossimo, Sandeen's Salute,(Joe/Kris Knowles bull), and one that I am watching a little harder again would be RSVP. Seems like there are a fair number of RSVP's showing up as Momma's.

Use Mama's Boy on stouter Simmental, Maine or Club Calf cows needing cool look, hair and belly.

What do yall think about the plans on breeding up the angus with duff new edition and then crossing them (2nd calf)with 3c picasso?  I have heard mixed reviews about picasso.

We used mamas boy on a good payback cow. He down sized just a little, added body and hair but took away on bone and thickness. I would defiantly take mamas boy to stouter made females.
