Here is a picture of the Percentage Lowline Female Grand Champion Drive at the NAILE.  Several on this board will be interested in seeing it for various reasons.  1st, IMHO, this little heifer pulled off the upset of century by beating my Lowline X Shortorn heifer standing right behind her.  2nd, Shelby Olson, who is at the halter, did an excellent exhibiting her in the ring (maybe too good!). ;-)  3rd, Justin Olson (Shelby's brother) was one of the primary fitters.  He's also had the Lowline X Shorthorn heifer looking awesome!  4th, I broke this heifer & cared for her for a few weeks leading up to the show.  When I first got her, I never dreamed that she would win Reserve Champ at Louisville.   5th, Lazy G Lowlines (The Chapman's-Steer Planet Poster) main red herd bull (Murrumbong Bluey) sired this heifer.  Nancy Chapman flew all the way down from Washington State to watch the show.   6th, it's a Lowline X heifer, so Dori, Matt & others on Steer Planet can appreciate the picture too.  Anyway, I just had it sent to me & I wanted to post it.

And here is an article written about our NAILE Lowline Show...
http://www.agrinews-pubs.com/articles/livestock/beefnews/default.asp?Article=777A4065744583006CF6E02F764A297AF5AB9DB3DC92EA05

BTW, the same Reserve Champion Heifer is the one pictured in the article on the far right.   Heather Raab, is another person who did a tremendous job helping us at the show.  She is showing the Res. Champion heifer in that picture (right).

Seemed nobody took pictures of my Res. Champion Fullblood Heifer, except the NAILE photographer.  :-(   Guess they all like red too much.  ;-)

Anyway, just wanted to share...

Heifer looks great!  When I got to Louisville, she was a shaggy-haired thing that I thought had some potential...I spent the better part of an afternoon clipping her, I probably took close to two inches off her body...I woulda left her shaggier, but I knew the judge wouldn't be going for the "clubby" type, and I was right!  This little Bluey heifer is gonna make a whale of a cow, and I even tried buying her before the show even started  (lol)  Glad to see you got some pics put up TJ, I wish that we could get some of the Doc heifer up too.

Good Job  TJ, Justin, & Shelby!!!  Looks great!!

Ditto and congrats to all of you!  I know everyone put in many hours and a lot of hard work to get this show off the ground!  TJ, I've got a question for you:  I've gone to the NAILE site and can't find any results for the Lowline show, in total.  So, could you tell me who the grands and reserves were - fullbloods and percentages - bulls and females.  Thanks!  BTW, I'm seriously thinking of ai'ing my Doc halfblood heifer that I just bought to Bluey.  What do you think?  Nancy, I'd value your opinion, too.

She's a 1/2 Lowline, 1/2  Red Angus..she's a February calf ( I think)..and thats a baby, definitely not a yearling!

I think that Bluey on Doc would work great, but if you want a "for sure" show champ, I'd only use Bluey on a female that's real clean fronted.  The dam of that heifer was very clean up front.  Based on the pictures that I saw, your calf had a pretty nice front.  But, if she's not super fronted, I'd use Fitz.

Below is my red bull that is also out of Bluey & a Red Angus cow.  He is also a February, 08.  As you can see, Bluey makes them very masuline, which means his daughters should be very feminine.  He got sick, so I didn't get to take him to the show.   And there is your Reserve Champ female laying on the ground beside him.

Here is a picture of my Lowline X Shorthorn heifer that got beat by the red heifer.  However, this heifer & my Doc Holliday X Tarentaise percentage heifer beat the American Royal Reserve Grand Champion to win Champion & reserve in a very competive division...

Ok, I'm probably confused, as usual, but where did you see a pic of my new heifer?  I don't even have one of her.  Did Hancock's send you one earlier this summer?  I haven't seen her since warm weather but am heading "home" tomorrow, in spite of the huge snow storm we're having, and I'll get a new look at her then.

You know what they say - cows may come and go but the bull around here goes on forever! RW ;-)

And Dori, you know we'd recommend either Bluey or Fitz. We've been very impressed with Bluey's first U.S. calf crop, and he's been well-represented at several major shows this year. So far he's had the top-selling percentage heifer at KC-American Royal and reserve grand champion percentage heifer at NAILE. Plus there are a few others 'in the hunt' that were pretty green.  We expect they'll be pretty hard to beat once they're a little more seasoned.  We plan on bringing 10 fullblood Bluey calves to Denver next month, so I haven't had much time to spend on the computer/SP lately.  Seems like I've got more work to do now than before I retired!

Yes, since Doc was the sire, the Hancock's emailed me a picture/s of a Doc X Angus heifer calf way back in the summer.  Seems like forever ago.  I know there was another Doc X Angus heifer that the Hancocks had something to do with, but I am 99% sure that I saw pictures of both.  If you want to see the picture of your heifer, I can probably dig it up.

This heifer showed up at Louisville unclipped!  Justin was kind enough to clip her the afternoon before the show.  It's a late March Doc Holliday heifer & it's also out of a Red Angus cow.  I sold the bred dam to the person showing the heifer.

I'll have to buy one, but I need to get that done & I will post it when I do.  BTW, you will have black knees in the picture.

Justin... As bad as I hate to admit it, I was so busy running around that I never really saw Jimmy's heifer after you clipped it.  But, based on what I can see from the picture, she turned out pretty good.  Actually, after seeing the picture, I'm wondering why she didn't win her class.
