Justin... As bad as I hate to admit it, I was so busy running around that I never really saw Jimmy's heifer after you clipped it.  But, based on what I can see from the picture, she turned out pretty good.  Actually, after seeing the picture, I'm wondering why she didn't win her class.

She was just flat out-horsed in her class....she had that Bluey x Heatseeker with her.  Jimmy's heifer should make a heck of a cow though.

Who took the pictures of the lowlines, so I can go have a look.

Good work...any pictures you see with a tall-ish, skinny dude with a blue hat and extremely dirty pants are examples of my handiwork with glue, paint, and clippers. Enjoy!  (lol)

I was going to mention something about that. Must have been a busy day for you, considering half of the pictures include the same tall "goofy" fitter you describe (lol)

VERY busy day for me....I think I worked on 12 calves or so.  Ask TJ, but whenever he hires me on, I clip, and clip and clip and clip...never really satisfied until the 5 minutes before they go into the ring.

Watch out Justin and TJ, next year we will be sticking around the there will also be a blondish haired woman in most of the pics too!  Sounds like it got more exciting after we left.

Looks like Shelby's training worked, the show stick doesn't look backward  ;)

From TJ:  <<I think that Bluey on Doc would work great, but if you want a "for sure" show champ, I'd only use Bluey on a female that's real clean fronted.  The dam of that heifer was very clean up front.  Based on the pictures that I saw, your calf had a pretty nice front.  But, if she's not super fronted, I'd use Fitz.  >>

Ok, I'm probably confused, as usual, but where did you see a pic of my new heifer?  I don't even have one of her.  Did Hancock's send you one earlier this summer?  I haven't seen her since warm weather but am heading "home" tomorrow, in spite of the huge snow storm we're having, and I'll get a new look at her then.

Dori, I found the pictures (3 of them in 2 emails), but I think all 3 are of the "other" Doc X Angus heifer that went to Hastings, MI.  It's confusing as to which heifer is in the pictures in the 2nd email, but after carefully reading it, it looks like I was wrong.  One of the emails says that the other heifer (the one you ended up with), is longer, thicker, better, etc., etc.  If true, you got a real gem.  I hope that she is a great one!  Let me know what you think.

There are quite a few RA breeders who used Bluey and we haven't heard 1 complaint yet.  Now if we can just get him recognized in the RA registry....

Do "pure" red angus have a significant amount of white hair patches in the tail switch & on their belly?

There are certain bloodlines that have a higher incedence of white. I personally don't like it even though the Assn. says it's ok as long as it is behind the navel. For those few of us "purists" that are still in the breed it is a nondesireable trait. RW
