NAME THE BULL!

516 is not Hustler.  He is a 3/4 maine.  Born in SD back in 94 and made his way down to OK and TX.  His name and ads were Indian influenced.

Not navajo, this bull was born in 1994 and has been gone for a while before Navajo was born.

Dang it, the only other bull that I know of that has an Indian-type name has somethin to do with Apache somethin-or-other....hmmm any more hints available?

Alot of times Indians or even a mad woman would go on these.

You got it.  Try this one, he has 2 acceptable names.  He had several owners and 2 names.  He is both a Mainetainer and a Chi.

OK Stick.... I was thinking this morning after my original post about your picture of the 4 sons of Ayatollah in Denver, and I knew I was wrong about at least one of the bulls. I am thinking that Lefty 83rd was one of the bulls and maybe Glenford High Voltage ( not sure about this one)  or possibly Foxfire. Am I getting any closer? The other two that were right were G. Ayatollah 2nd and Cactus Flat Ringmaster.
  I remember when we took these bulls to Louisville to the World Show in 1984, we had to take the top deck out of the pot as we were afraid these coming two year old bulls would rub the hair off their backs on the deck above. Ayatollah 2nd won Reserve at the World show despite having his show side shaved and a large incision sown up on his side. Benders almost lost him with a twisted gut and they had to operate and flip it back in place. He had a two foot incision still healing at the time of the show.

In addition to DL's list was Calling View Teton, another full brother and the full sister was PTR Miss Epinal 85E.

Geez those bulls are big....which leads me to another "name the..." question.  Who the heck is that guy on the far right?  All the other guys can barely see over the bulls, and that guy looks normal proportions.  He must be pushing 7 feet

The twisted gut occurred a couple of weeks prior to us leaving for the show. At the time, the Bender's had decided to not take  him as they flet he would not be recovered in time and because they felt he would lose some weight. The bull never missed a beat, and only missed a meal the day he was operated on. The incision was healing so quickly that they decided to take him to the show and decide whether he would be shown on show day. He travelled good so he was shown and went on to be Reserve Grand.
This bull is a real example of a missed opportunity as they were offered over $60,000 before the show, for him, but they turned it down as they felt he may bring more if he won the show.

The tall guy on the right in the picture is Mark Graham,Jr,  of Graham Land and Livestock Co. , Waverly, MN. The Graham's owned Ayatollah. Mr. Mark Graham, SR is pictured on the left beside the bulls. The other person is Glenn Bender from Saskatchewan. Mark Graham, Jr is now Dr. Mark Graham, Jr, and he is a leading heart specialist in the US. I have lost track of where he is now, but he still owns some Shorthorns and keeps them at Waukaru Barry and Anita Jordan and family, in Indiana.

Justintime, Lefty is right. Now all that's left is the red and white bull. He's the youngest of the four. "Only"  weighed 2080 at the time and measured 61.5 inches. Think Granada.

Stick, thanx for the good clues. That has to be Alexander S3 . Is he the roan? Milestone was also in that era but he was red.

looking back at those pictures makes me wonder what everyone was thinking. I have seen humming birds with more ass end! Back in those days, I used to wonder why they got leading cattlemen to judge the shows. The guy carrying the shovel around the ring was just as capable in lining them up as all he had to do was start with the tallest and line them up to the shortest. I remember Eldon Krebs had an Ayatollah heifer named Prairie Lane Metric Marvel, that he purchased here in Sask. She was so tall when she calved that her calf could not real her udder. They had to hold the calf up to suck. Now that's performance... right?

Sure Bet is one of the names, do you know the other one?  Who changed it?  Your bull #530 is  FULL THROTTLE touted as the king.  I almost used him again this year, it is still hard to get around a good throttle or flush.

They are/were great ones, kind of a thing of the past.  They could come plenty big( they were more extra stout than heavy), and could be very mean also.  They would be freaky fronted with a monster hip, and an unmistakeable look to them.  IMO he is where the killer look everyone tries to get in their calves originated.

That picture is grainy or he was much younger there.  i had to go take a close look after you said that.
