Here is another oldie but a goodie for everyone to try.  Shorthorn bull born 1965 with Scottish influence.  The second picture is the bull at 8 years old on pasture.

I think you're right JIT....by the looks of him, he could sire some wicked club calves today!

I've seen those pics before, and I'm sure JIT is quite familiar with the bull....and you also posted the pics as CK and CK8...not exactly a DEAD giveaway, but if someone had an inkling....awesome bull though!

Just a note on the top picture of Clipper King of USA. If you think there is a lot of photo editing done today, take a look at this picture and almost all pictures from that era. It was very common practice back then to hand paint the backs and butts on the pictures and make the back straighter and the butt bigger. And of course the tail switch painted on is a dead give away.

Back then some breed magazines would not publish pictures unless they could " make them better". To me, pictures from this era give you close to no idea of how good a bull actually was. Most of them, in fact, look the same.

You will find this bull alot of pedigrees. He is listed in one of the more popular later to market sires today.

I have seen that picture before and if memory serves me correct it was in an old add for TPS Coronet Leader 21st and it was listed as his sire CORONET MAX LEADER?

I think you are right EM, that is Coronet Max Leader, the sire of Leader 21 and many other leading cattle from the late 50s and early 60s.

By the looks of the legs, I would think we are talking 80's. Percentage Chi? Any other hints?

In the 80's that black calf could have been a purebred angus, i have no idea but will guess POWER PLANT?
