So we are a ways through some of the new sires first calf crop. What calves are looking good or bad through all the heat of summer? Which ones have changed for the good or bad? I don't use many unproven bulls so rely on word or mouth from people who do. I like to know which ones start off slow and get better with age.

Walks Alone calves always start off slow for me but end up doing well for me. My bodacious calves started out slow, peaked in may, then seem to be falling off....

Anybody have some Two Tone calves they'd like to report on, at this stage, or how you think they'll develop?  We bred our black baldy Tiger Woods to him so was curious.  Thanks!

Most of those bulls mentioned have had a few calf crops. I would like to know about the unproven ones that this was their first calves born.

I had a super thick heifer calf outta two tone and her mom has never had any problems throwing anything with structure problems and we had to put her down due to her structure... she way too straight and could hardly walk. really sucks cause she woulda been the best calf we have ever had if she didn't have the structure problems...

I know he isn't a brand new bull but he is fairly new (2nd calf crop)....we had a Choppin Wood calf out of one of our top females that up until about early June was "average" in my book. But while some calves are hitting that ugly stage he is heading the other way. He has done a complete 180 and is one of the thickest calves we have had, hair isn't there yet but man is he powerful! Seems to be one that is getting better with time.
