Just a quick note to let everyone know that the NAJRA will be having it's annual fund raising auction Friday night. The breeders from around the country have been very generous in their donations for this event. There are some excellent genetic opportunities offered through semen and embryo packages as well as a 4 man hog hunt, jewelry, Stock Show Confidential advertising package as well as many other items. If you are interested in Red Angus genetics and supporting the juniors, this is a phenomenal opportunity. Shoot me a PM with your email address if you would like a full listing of the donated items. Thanks, RCR

It is nice to see the breeders supporting the national junior red angus show and junior members.  What day is the National Show and where is it?  It would be fun to attend and see how the youth is progressing!

The National show will be in Ft. Worth this year around the first of Feb. For the past several years the National was held in Denver, but this past year they voted to go back to the rotation that moves from Denver to Ft Worth to Louisville to IA State Fair to Billings. I'm not sure if they will be in that order or not. RCR

After some research, I realized that the "North American Junior Red Angus Show" is NOT the "National Junior Red Angus Show".  It took some questions and multiple phone calls. It is my understanding that the "North American Junior Red Angus Show" is run by a single family and has nothing to do with the National Junior Red Angus Association.
I can understand why I confused the NAJRA with the NJRA show.  Which ever show was "second" should change their name. Right now there seems to be confusion on which is the real national show.

Good luck to all the youth in this summers shows.  It is a busy time of year.

The NAJRA was started because the breed association did/does not offer a "summer junior national". The official title for the associations junior program is JRA. The NAJRA was founded by a family that were formerly the Iowa junior advisers, now there is a senior board as well as a junior board that are very involved with the program and its direction. This is the 4th show and it has 117 juniors exhibiting over 300 head of cattle. This is a very family friendly event that offers the juniors a chance to exhibit their show cattle, participate in contests and form friendships with people from all over the North American continent (this year there is even a Aussie representation). It is all funded by donations from breeders and companies and recieves no support from the national association. Just a little history about the program. RCR
