you can try either live auctions tv, cagwin cattle services, and the ohio beef expo site because it was offered online at liveauctions and cagwin was the sale manager if this helps at all. I do know that Gottschalk had high selling bull and female.

My subscription APPARENTLY has expired. They want you to purchase a subscription to view sales and bid etc. I did last year. Don't think I will again.

This is all they allow you to see unless you PURCHASE a subscription.

A one nutted bull sold for $4300.00. Even announced it when he was in the ring. I have seen it all now. I wonder how many other breeds had a good time chatting about that? No offense to anyone, those that sold and those that bought but my goodness. Get a sharp knife and count to two.

Like a defect having only one nut or you mean he was banded and only got 1 of em, so they decided to sell it as a bull?  Anyhow- how embarrassing...for the seller and buyer.

How did jtm's JPJ daughter sell? She looked real nice in the catalog.

which testicle was it? Was it the one that gives the X chromosome to the calves or the one that gives the Y chromosome? Maybe that is why he sold so good, as maybe he will sire all heifers!  haha.

I have seen some bulls that lost a testicle by injury that were good breeding bulls for many years. I remember one excellent bull that produced semen for many years at stud with only 1 testicle. Here in Canada, it would be virtually impossible to sell a bull with one testicle in an auction, because no vet would ever pass him for breeding soundness. You may be able to sell him privately if he was good enough.

Yea , I couldn't believe it. He was even telling people that it was because of the way he was laying in his dam and then he told one guy that when he was nervous that he pulled it up like that. I could believe that he would pass a fertility test , but not a true BSE.

Okay, standing from the rear he had the left one.

Driving home I remembered that my Dad used to laugh about a Scotch bull imported in the 50's with one testicle . We looked it up on Sunday.  Drynie Wonder 2549781. Willow Lee Farms of Ohio imported this bull. Dad said that if he had two testicles he would not have left Scotland!
Anyhow Michigan state University purchased a son Willow Lee Wonder .... this bull went on to produce MSU Wonder 2888-717. Many breeders had decendents of MSU Wonder.... MSU's herd of shorthorns sold in the late or mid 60's.

When you say the bs test I hope you mean the "bull S**t test, not a breeding soundness test. There should be no way a bull should pass a true breeding soundness exam with one testicle.

I have a subscription to liveauctions and all the other sale reports are complete except this one...most of them including the Alta Cedar sale today were up in short order. My guess this sale report is a burp in the system, we'll see.

This reminds me of when I purchased GLEN HAVEN WAYLAND, a son of Spruce Hill Image and his dam by Deer Trail Awesome. I was pretty excited to be getting a son of Image. When they arrived the trucker was saying how impressed he was with the size of the bull calfs testicles. He said they were even bigger than the two year old bull he was trucking. One look and I was on the phone to the vet. It turned out he had been stepped on in the trailer. A few weeks later he was a one nutted bull, but that one worked. We did use him and he got the cows in calf and his main claim to fame would be his daughter Diamond Baroness 31G, the dam of Diamond Baroness 21J and Diamond Baroness 31L who in turn were the dams of YY The Earl of Dover and ACC General 4U.
Im surprised that bull at the OH Beef Expo Sale was allowed to sell. At a consignment sales here they require a semen test with a proper inspection.
