Yea we got some flooding last night, and they are calling for thunderstorm warning till 8pm. Hope we don't see anymore rain anytime soon, everything is saturated!

Although we are very thankful for the rain its been quiet excessive in Northwest Ohio. Beans are starting to yellow and we had a windstorm come through and tornado laid alot of corn down in the field and the wheat. I had the best first cut Hay I have had in three years so I am praying we can get another cut off this year without rain. Past few years the summers have been so so dry I hate to complain about too much. Garden is loving it as well as pastures.

Where to begin....summer and winter pastures are flooded. Had cows in the winter pasture waiting for a county fair exhibit in a few weeks. Multiple trees fell on fence, they got out, my brother and I were out in the wind and rain putting them in the other pasture. Lost trees along the creek bank. Lost a large pine in front of our grandpas farmhouse built in 1880. That tree landed and blocked the entire road. Our corn is flattened and our second cutting alfalfa may not get off anytime soon. My dad has 40 a :)cres of beans completely under water. But you know,  in the end, no one is hurt. My husband and I still have no power so we spend more time shacking up with our family. Last year we were near drought, this year, we get too much rain. No use complaining over what you can't control. Family is safe, cows are in the pasture, and from the weather report, its going to be a beautiful day to fix fence

It seems it has been a couple of years of extremes. We have had record rainfalls and floods while others are burning up. Losing ones crops and winter feed to floods and drought is pretty frustrating. There are hundreds of people in High River that are going to lose their homes, just too much water damage as well two schools are total write offs. They had 14.4 inches of rain west of town in the watershed in 30 hours.
I hope Ohio gets some sunny weather now.

At least when you have excessive rains you are still able to raise something somewhere.  Our corn is toast, as well as some of the milo and the sorghum sudan feed.  If it doesn't rain within the next 3 or 4 days we can kiss the rest of the milo and feed goodbye.  Nobody buying pairs at the local sale barn, so even the 3 and 4 year old cows with calves that get hauled in are being split off and cows sent to the butcher.

Northwest Kansas about an hour south of the Nebraska border and 1 hour 45 minutes east of the Colorado border.  Little town called Quinter.

In n.w ohio we haven't seen a drop of rain in two weeks. It's getting a little dusty. By some miracle I got hay mowed and baled without it getting rained on. I think the only thing keeping everything green is all the humidity in the air.

We have had nothing for more than four weeks now. NOTHING !!! Our pastures are brown and crunchy, some are feeding hay already... Bad memories of last year are quickly reliving themselves around here.
