I thought the best bull in the Maine sale in Denver was an Open Bar.  I think a few other good ones there also.

Open Bar has done an awesome job for us.  Year after year the bulls out of him have been consistant and have also consistantly been our high sellers. Phenotypically they are really good cattle and more importantly now, his females are producing like we want them to, and expect them to.  Great mamas, beautiful productive udders.  We need to have a whole lot more Open Bar daughters in the herd but they have always gone into club calf sale because they are that good and sell well. If anyone has any questions on them, fell free to give us a call 402-371-0695.

The Open Bars at Ohlrichs sale were as good of sire group of bulls as I've seen in along time.  Would have been pretty easy to have taken anyone of them home and been happy with them.  The bull in my avatar is an Open Bar from Ohlrichs Denver pen, can't wait to get him home.

Open Bar is a bull that caught my eye a few years ago.  Depending upon what a person is wanting to do, he certainly appears to be one of the better bulls out there.

We have used Open Bar on all types of cows--small framed, moderate sized, and even some bigger framed cows.  We are happy to say that we are comfortable and confident to use him on any size. As far as any breed of cow, we'll have to say it matters not either.  He works great on Angus, second high selling bull in our sale last year was "trademark" that Ben Kelly purchased. We try to keep all the Open Bar daughters out of Angus cows that we can just to make great cows for us.  Our high selling heifer calf this fall that brought over 20,000 was out of a simxchixang female.  We actually have very few high percent maines but he works on them too.  Having a lot more chi cross females, we can't say enough on how well he works there.  Botton line is,
Open Bar works well on any good cow.  Again if anyone does have questions, please feel free to call us.  Good luck to everyones calving season.

I am a fan of Open Bar. We will have our first few born this spring. I watched him closely for a couple of years before using him. After attending Ohlrich's bull sale last year, I was convinced to use him. I really like Wayne and Barb's cattle. They are good without being puds or peanuts, by that I mean good growth for commercial producers, yet they still have plenty of look. We will use him again this year . Earl

What is his frame score?  What is his mature weight?  Will he downsize cattle?  How is his disposition, especially on the chi/angus crosses?
