My brother purchased a grainery/feed store recently.  I would like to have him mix me up a ration so I can buy bulk and save a little $$.  He is a SunGlo Dealer so I was thinking about using one of the rations that Sunglo recommends for steers and heifers.  They are as follows:

Steer Developer: Corn  985lbs, SG Show Calf Supp 35-B 300 lbs, Oats 250 lbs, Cottonseed Hulls 225 lbs, Sunglo Full Tank 100 lbs, Molasses 100lbs, Soy Oil 40lbs. This comes up to Crude Protein% 11.8, Fat % 5.2, Fiber % 9.5, Vitamin A, IU/lb 6200

Steer Finisher: Corn 1095lbs, SG Show Calf Supp 35-b 280 lbs, Oats, 224, Cottonseed Hulls 160, Sunglo Full Tank 100lbs, Mollasses 100lbs, Soy Oil 40lbs.  This comes up to Crude Protein % 11.6, Fat% 5.3, Fiber % 8, Vitamin A, IU/lb 6200

Heifer Developer: Corn 795lbs, SG Show Calf Supp 35-b 310 lbs, Oats, 280, Cottonseed Hulls 250, Sunglo Full Tank 200lbs, Mollasses 125lbs, Soy Oil 40lbs.  This comes up to Crude Protein % 11.9, Fat% 5.0, Fiber % 11.2, Vitamin A, IU/lb 6200

What do you think of the rations and which ones do you think would work best on heifers and steers (can't buy bulk if one of these wouldn't work for both? The heifers are 5 - 9 months old and the steers are 5 months old.

I am also thinking about making a ration with Purina 4-T-Fyer since he is a Purina dealer as well.
