This is our simmental/angus calf that is a month old. She will be shown next year as my brother's first calf at the county fair. Breeding her mom to WA. Opinions appreciated! :)

Thanks! Surprisingly she just came out of our commercial sim/angus cow and a full simmental bull down the street!

She's Cocky!  I am a sucker for that look!  There are a lot of kids that could only wish for a first heifer like that one!  Congrats

Thanks! Yes she is very cocky and I'm liking her so far. I'm breeding her full sister to Brilliance so far, and if everything works out I will probably breed her to Brilliance as well.

I really like Brilliance and think his calfs have a cool look.

[/That's good! This is my first time doing the AI. I'm breeding him to a heifer that's got some depth and length of body. She also as some muscle sape down her top and is thick from behind for a tock calf. I'm hoping he can pretty her up in adding some neck to her and cleaning up her brisket.]

don't know how old your brother is- but typically high headed, cocky looking calves don't make good first time projects-- without tons and tons of working with-- and even then...

Nice to see you back on here Jody. He is eight , will be nine when he shows. So yes he is a bit young. The calf is cocky in being that she holds her head high (she has a giraffe neck on her). But she's doesn't seem to be hot headed. She allows us to get close to her. I guess we will just have to see how it goes.
