He looks real good, What makes him better or different than "Tool" or do you think he will breed the same? I need to find a bull that looks like he does but without the Meyer (Cows already have Meyer influence)

He is by far the best haired of the brothers. He's more moderate than Tool.  We have been very please with the Tool calves so far.  I would expect him to breed more hair in a more moderate package.

IMO, if I were trying to try and promote a bull... I don't think the first thing out of my mouth would be hair.  In JuCo judging, we were taught to state the most important first..  Last time I checked, hair was not exactly the highest priority.

Are you being serious?
He asked the difference between the two bulls. The biggest difference between them is hair and frame size.

Hwe brings up a good point with the hair bing  a positive seems long and raight alot of the brothers like back lash have curly hair, something you should put some thought into the truth before you go critcizing.

Jody it seems your picking scabs. Does it really matter? You will never use this bull. It is geared toward the club calf industry and probably not for your program. So. do you really want to split hairs? Do you breed for bone and hair? I wouldn't think so as you have made it pretty clear your program goals. So, let it go....it just makes you appear bitter and argumentative. I see what the OWNER is saying. One throws hair the other doesn't those are legitimate traits whether you breed for clubbys or not. If you were in a hot climate and did plan on using one or the other you may not want hair.  Seriously, just let it go. Clubby show calf people want a bull that throws hair. No there is no hair epd but it is what it is.

As usuall Im a day late but in your first description u said he is Flawless...... that would have been a good name.  Thinkin about the whole linebreeding thing, what would happen if you bred c17 back to a Whiplash son? Just a thought.  I do wish he was a year old so I could breed to him this spring.  I dont think you will have much problem sellin semen on this guy.

Thanks for the input. I am a big proponent of line breeding. Kind of funny you asked because we have a bull we call School's Out whois a Blazer (Double bred Whiplash)  out of C17 (the mother of Whiplash). I LOVE the calves. We are working on getting pictures of him and the calves up at www.whiteroostercattle.com . One of the highlights of his first calf crop is a daughter who's mother is an  own Whiplash daughter. So that heifer traces to whiplash 3 times and C17 4 in just a few generations.

We  have a bull from Skyler, a Blazer bull. We have or first set of clubcalves on the ground. Mostly from charolais cows, a couple maine, angus, and a herford. Love the colors on the calves, some are pretty fancy. Most have decent hair, and definitely move just fine.

check out our facebook page..... rockn m ranch in california. I will try and update the website with some better pictures.

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Wondering what the actual birth weights were on Tool and Real Deal?

Also, what are the birth weights of the Tool calves?

Thanks!

Tools BW was 87 lbs The Real Deal was 90lbs both were ET calves and a couple days over. The Tool calves have averaged right at 85-86 lbs for the bulls.

I couldnt take it any longer, I broke down and bought 5 straws of Tool!  Its kinda stupid to ask this after I bought the semen but does Tool need to be used on a cow with a little simmi or maine like Mamas Boy does or is he better off on softer made cows?

Tool has worked on different types of cows for us. He works best on high percentage angus cows with a shot of Maine or Simmi. Very consistently throwing white faces, good fronts, bone, and stoutness. The older the Tool calves get the more we like them. We are very excited about the group of daughters on the ground.
