Last year I posted some photos of bred heifers. Here is one of the calves by Diamond Lord Belmore 56B.
He is out of a Northern Legend 3N daughter Diamond Baroness 3B.

That's a real deal 1st calf-JMO-he needs to go on full blood-or black maines-Soo Line type Angus, or Simms. They've got the butt-hes got the rest. Thats the only weak link to me- I love the way these cattle look till I get behind them-but they are a TREMENDOUS and different base to cross with-JMO. I won't forget Cagwin and Hunsleys smug remarks about the three VERY good red bulls from Canada in 94 or 95 at Denver, They were almost ideal in commercial phenotype, and ahead of their time My response was this- It wont be long before the Canadians don't buy your act about sending second hand junk like Woodland 57 Chevy etc up there-YOU HAD BETTER PAY ATTENTION. They did'nt particularly like my comments: but at that time we (me-Deertrail etc)legitimately had some decent cattle and stood up at all the big shows.O0

Great photos Dan!

Interesting comments Mark. Who were the red bulls at Denver 93 94 that you were referring to?

I don't remember-maybe Stephenson. The lady that led one of them was short with dark hair-. I do remember how they looked-:moderate thick peas in a pod. This was at the tail end of the Ayatollah-Giraffe era.94-95 Hunsley said "the Canadian Cattle have a lot of junk in them", Then I replied -that the junk they sent up there (like 57 Chevys full sib etc) actually produced good ones up there-so the cattle must be way good-and those bulls were right on the money. Now that was 94 or so. Today-Cagwin uses a lot of Canadian bulls and the ideal seems to be what those bulls WERE. O0

Mark I think you are referring to the pen of three bulls we had in Denver in 1998. That was our first year in the pen show there. They were three half brothers sired by Diamond Macbest 54B. We purchased these 3 bulls from GAFA Shorthorns. The lead off bull, Gafa Captain Macbest 6G, we retained for a herd bull. He was one of our best herd sires but turned out to be a TH carrier. We had several free daughters and his influence is still in our herd. Here is a photo of 6G in Denver that year.

Good calf.  Bears some resemblance to your Northern Legend photo in my opinion.

Nice calf! The dam really helps to make him interesting.  Who wouldn't want their bred heifers to look like her.

Thanks for the comments. He does show some of Legend's traits. His dam is doing really well as a two year old and has a very nice udder. She is a full sister to ACC General 4U.
Here is a photo of the sire of the white calf taken last May when he was out with the cows.

Here is another one of the bull calves by Diamond Lord Belmore 56B out of a two year old owned by Jaimie and Prav. This guy's dam is by Diamond Xplosion 23X and out of Diamond Whitney Maid 14W, a daughter of Diamond Regal Legend 4R. First photo taken this week, second as a new born and third is of the dam as a bred heifer.

A couple of really nice calves there. Like the depth and softness of the white but sure some will like the length of the roan.  Looks like the embryos that resulted in Lord Belmore could be on the best deal tread.

Used Kookaburra selectively over 4 white and roan cows hoping for a roan bull to retain this year. Got 4 heifers so that plan has gone back another year but not the worst result.

Well hopefully you will get a bull next year. When Jacqueline and Jaimie visited Belmore they were very impressed with The Grove Kookaburra W735 cows. They have produced a lot of top herd bulls there. We only have one female by him, a good red two year old. We only had three Kookaburra calves this year and they were ET bull calves, all of them red. We had 2/3 bulls this year so we don't have many Lord Belmore heifer calves either, but we really like them. All our Lord Belmore's are out of two year old heifers raised without creep feed. The red heifer is out of an Eionmor Piper 23Z and the roan out of a Diamond Zulu 3Z.

A couple of more Diamond Lord Belmore 56B calves. The heifer is out of a two year old Diamond Zulu 3Z and the bull is out of a two year old Herbourne B Manitoba Gus 13Z. At 200 days the bull calf weighed 642 lbs and his dam 1257 lbs., 51% of her weight. The heifer's dam is only 28 1/2 months old now.
The next two pics are of 8D as a new born at a 71 lb birth weight and now at 620 lbs.His dam was 1278 lbs.
The last pic is of a double bred Kookaburra, also by Lord Belmore. His bw was 76 lbs and photo is at 165 days.

I was trying to post about the semen we have available on Diamond Lord Belmore 56B, at the All Star Classic in Lacombe next Saturday but when I go to Classifieds it shows me as a guest? I sent an email to admin but no reply, do you need a different account to log in there? ???
