I like the bull and he looks an easy doing type to me. I see alot of the dam side in him with Kookaburra and Engineer both being moderate thick bulls. Although not having seen Nasa I would have thought he was a much bigger bull.

Okotoks what is the other bull you are getting semen in?

Gauge would be a good choice to me--E3 Durhams' comment.  We have a Gauge heifer calf from a Blizzard dam, and she may go to the local 4-H fair this summer.  Gauge added some volume and reinforces a number of desirable traits.  Our Blizzard cow was AI'd to JSF Gauge again.

Saskvalley Imperative 33x. I think he checks a lot of the boxes. Look him up on the ASA website and form your own opinion.

Look at bulls from programmes with depth to their pedigrees, like Kaper, Y Lazy Y, Haumont and Waukaru, amongst others in the US, and a long list from Canada.
You know what you will get!
It looks like the cow could do with a bit of hindquarter, in my opinion, from the picture./// And thats WHAT YOU WONT GET GET out of some of the above O0
After seeing the above bull MT, do you still think that! O0

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd bring this back with a picture of her current Manimal heifer calf born March 2. She's growing like a weed, and is rather growthy in person. For the first month or so I hated her, and my initial thought was "what have I done..." but she has turned it around and surprised me! I bred the cow to Big Sky on May 29, so fingers crossed for another heifer next March!

Update: This year's heifer calf by JDMC Big Sky... we've been very pleased with her so far, and she's outgrowing everything else on the ground. I have heard from a number of sources that the Bonanza cattle just don't quite grow, but the dam is a big cow so I think that's making up for it.

Thought I'd give an update on these calves. Again, the white heifer is by HP Manimal 1C, and the roan heifer is a JDMC Big Sky 15X. The white heifer was limit-fed 5lbs grain per day through winter with free choice hay. She's pictured at 16 months next to a 3 yr old Holstein x Studer's Jazz Man cow for size reference.

The roan heifer is pictured about a week past 6 months.

My phone pics are apparently too big, so I'm sorry these are going to be 1 per post
