Let's get some input from some of you breeders that raised a champion steer before the heatseeker era. What was the sire  or sires of these steers? (pop)

This may date me, but Sugar Ray raised the good one's if you could get in the pen with them.

Full throttle was very dominant from around the early to mid or late 90s.  Full flush took over, but from what I remember his run wasnt quite as long.  I think Lautner first got on the map with Payback who sired slick winners in Tx for a while.

I remember who being pretty dominate and full flush. I also remember habanero having a few decent steers that won around here

Foreplay and Witch Dr sired their share of winners .

We normally sold the Witch Dr calves and tried to keep the Stout heifers hid in the back pasture for replacements.

I've been selling semen, mostly clubby stuff, for over 20 years. Wish I could remember what year it was, but I do remember I figured it up one year, and over 90% of what I'd sold was 3 bulls - Heat Seeker, Who Made Who and Double Stuff.

Funny, but I'm kind of drawing a blank trying to remember the names of those old bulls.

One that I sold quite a bit of was Mailman - IMHO, no other bull, Sugar Ray included, sired as a high a percentage of downright mean ones as Mailman.  There were some good one's though.

Calves sired by Stout won our co fair 3 yrs in arow in early 90's.  The thing about them i remember most most was they were all born with a weird color pattern kinda reddish tiger stripped which made them a hard sell but all turned out black when they shed out.
