Windsor had some good ones in his day and so did the Mail Man. My favorites were the Total Plays and Platinums.

The one people are forgetting is Stilts. Him and Sugar Ray were the dominant sires for a decade in mid 80s to 90s

Power Plant, New Design, Nero (sire of Sugar Ray)  JJ of Primecut (if you could get them shown, they weren't just a little wild like Sugar Rays, they were plain mean)

DJ Power Plant started the ball rolling when it comes to those first exotic steer champions. Stout and Witch Doctor were two of his more popular sons. I think their influence is still important on the maternal side of the equation. Those Ildeno's and Sugar Rays were close behind.

Oddly, Cunia did not seem to sire a lot of the champion steers but his influence is sure popular now. I think he was a magic bullet in combination with some of the first ChianinaXAngus genetics. He also had the ability to play off of those big framed Maine and Shorthorn genetics by toning their frame down and adding some good thickness. You would be hard pressed to find club calf genetics without some Cunia influence.
