I have a cow due to calf on 12/20.  She's bred to I-80.  I have notcied for the past 3days she has had a slow drip of urine coming out.  Occasionally she'll stop and raise her tail as if she were urinating, but a slow stream comes out and not a "normal" amount(less) either.  My assumption is that the calf is putting pressure on her bladder....does this sound possible?  She's up and eating grass, drinking water, and resting with the other cows...so nothing out of the ordinary yet.  Any input is appreciated!

We have a cow that does the same thing when she gets to the last month or so of her pregnancy and once she calves she stops doing that. I would say its just pressure from the calf on her bladder. It happens to people when they are pregnant and I am sure it happens to some of the cows too when they are pregnant. As long as she appears healthy I would not worry about it, just part of the joys of being pregnant.

Thank y'all for the input.  SKF...I was thinking the same thing-but wasn't sure if that is "normal" in cattle.

It could also be the mucus from the cervical plug.  That starts to break up several weeks before the calf is born and is a normal occurance.
