What are some routines if you have a long wait between winning your class and final drive?

I assume your referring to a fit show? Do you have enough time to completely break down and get the calf dry and re-fit? If not I would recommend spraying a little hocus pocus in their legs, belly, and tail. Let them lay down and rest, give them hay, and hold water until right before you go back in. To get ready just blow the calf out good and just a little bit of glue, combing, and fine tune clipping and you'll be ready to go again.

I'd like to hear a few responses for this also - particularly for major shows.

If I have time I like to break them down completely and let them rest.  Give them some hay and maybe a little feed if its going to be a long time until the drive.  If I don't feel like chancing breaking them down completely, I use spray foam on all areas that have glue in them.  The foam breaks down the adhesive without leaving a greasy residue in the hair.  Then, when its time to refit, I blow all the bedding out good and fit the calf again.  It won't take much glue the second time around if you didn't wash them out.

We've always used white show foam as well. It works good, same thing just spray it in blow it off and re-glue where needed. We've always let them rest and lay down, and kept them full of hay and water

We blow shaving cream on the legs and let them rest, blow out the legs and go right back at it.
