purina precon pelletes

does the purina 4 square brand pre conditioning and recieving chow add mre belly? a few ppl i know have been using them bc ppl have told them this will put guts in there calves and keep them tight while being pushed! ne help would be great thanks

it will do it. we feed a little of it while pushing calves. it also helps keep them on feed because i guess it isnt so hot and it tastes good

It is awesome feed. I weaned some calves last Sat and put out a creep feeder full of Precon pellets. They went for it immediately and have barely made a peep. If their mommas weren't standing around bellering, you would never know they had just been weaned. Their manure is good and tight and the calves look great. I had the same experience with it last year.

How much do you feed and for how long?  Do you cut back on the show feed and add corn to this ration?  Thanks.
