Thanks Dan for the compliment. The Tamarack offspring seem to have that extra muscling that is needed in today's industry, but his offspring do not give up any conformation. The lead bull today is not as big as my high performance bull, but he scored the highest score in the whole station for conformation!(These bulls are visually appraised by 3 producers-1 purebred and 2 commercial) for muscling, front legs and rear legs.Also.the lead bull,Tag 101, has a ribeye of 110.3 cm---- bigger than alot of Continentals!!
But here in Quebec, the industry is still controlled by the Charolais and Simmental---as we usually have abundant feed. So I will not be surprised ,again, to see poorer quality Char & Sim outsell some good Angus and Shorthorn.
