Recently went off and got a red angus trying to diversify our program to make a long story short. She's purebred. Canadian. Here in tx we do the visual classifying and I would really like to go and try to get some of those steers out of her and have absolutely no knowledge of the red angus steer bloodlines in texas. Like I said this female is purebred and all that so thinking about possibly trying a bull like red headed stepchild, buck cherry, or bojo (and crossing the fingers it stayed red)

Anyone know of any success stories or bulls that come to mind. Keep in mind the steers are "supposed to look" purebred when they classify

I bought a bull that we got his first calves this spring from. They are very stout and very good fronted. He is actually registered red angus, no zoo bred in him. I know you are trying to raise steers but there are a few pure bulls out there that I think would work even better. One other option you might think about is if a bull is half charolais/half red angus if you breed them to a red cow they almost always come out pure red but with lots more muscle. I will try and post the bull I bought. His picture isn't the best and it was taken when he was only 10 months old. I have other pictures I just snapped of him lately but nothing "professional" by any standards.
