I like that calf-- more and more the more you post his pictures...  You know, I think you talked me into using him this year ;) <alien>

What are your plans with him-- has he seen a knife yet?

Seriously though- Rendition was the top bull at Denver his year- in several's opinions.  I really like how real world functional he is- yet with plenty of show ring pop.  i've seen tons more really good calves by him- than i have not so great ones--- and even though he's double hetro=  I think that could be something to latch onto towards the future...  IMO this color thing will be getting hotter and hotter-- just think about the number of times that someone asks what to breed to-o- and the first requirement is color.. Heck, in quite a few cases- color is the only requirement- IMO.

Well- then comes into play his breeder- and our history of showing at the same county fairs...  but that's just a minor part of why I think that bull is good. <beer> <cowboy>

No, and probably will not. He has really grown on me too, and has great EPD's to boot! He is the friendliest little bugger too, which helps when you are talking about show prospects. He is really becoming a tank lately, but his mom is one of our best cows now. Really love the job she is doing raising him!
Thought you would like his pic. I just love his big fro, tons of curly hair!!! His top will be fun to cut, but sad to see it go.... NOT!
We have one fall cow bred to him, a Drake Summer Sister granddaughter. I hope he clicks with her!

instead of making a new post-- I thought I'd ETA on mine above....

That Fro--- welp what can i say??  Never would have predicted that from an almost slick haired bull on display at Denver-- <party>

I agree-- it's always awesome when you take a chunk like that off. (dog)

Can we have another photo where the feet are more flattering.

Yep, that is the Rendition. Even better in real life than the pic. Here is another pic, but you can not see his face. Better feet positioning Knabe??? See all the shag this boy has???

Im going to guess that Rendition is a PB Simmi?

Btw, stellar calf!  You're right, the front half will be hard to clip off this guy  (lol)

Not sure where you're located, would his terminal show be a slick or hair show? (Assuming you're cutting him)i

He does have white socks on his back legs right? Painted for the photo I think.

rendition.. no---  he only has a small amount of ticking-- just basically enough above the hoof to be white- if I remember right, one side is about an inch... and the other maybe not quite that much- and I don't think it even wraps the whole pastern...

correct me if wrong?

hair awfully fuzzy.  still would like a better pic on the feet on firmer ground which is hopefully the issue.  please post pics as this one progresses with some weight on him.

This is his picture from the sale he was sold at, no white on back feet. As many times as I have seen him, I never remember white back feet. But I could be wrong...

when i was in Denver-- I remember Woody kept telling us.. See that little bit of white on his back feet...  HE said that he had an old time Herf guy tell him once, that with just the slightest bit of white on his rear feet- and a blaze face.. that bull would make more white faced offspring out of solid black cows-- than anyone would ever imagine.

Thus far: I think that hits Rendition to a T-- he's putting out all kinds of white *(and red too)

To me, in both pics, he looks a little straight on his back end.  Hocks and pasterns... G- Luck with him, hope he turns out a champion..

FSR it looks to me that according to the pic. that you put up that if he does have any white on him, it sure can't be enough to think about. I was told that Rendition was many Simi PPL's favorite the year that he was in Denver. I was told about the white legs, so I'am not sure about that one way or the other. I was just thinking that if he did have white that PPL may want to know it. My bad.

Hey Knabe, I think you might be right! We weaned our Rendition calf tonight, and the first thing my daughter said is that he is a bit straight off his hocks. Here is an updated pic of him taken tonight. We did a rough clip job on him, once again a TON of hair (he was slick sheared in April). I guess that is common with Crossfire offspring, lots of curly hair! I taped him, and he is right at 800 pounds. He has only been on a halter a few times, and never out and around (just in the creep pen we have), so he did really well tonight, being walked up the hill away from his dam and clipped and around a bunch of activity!
