What has everyones luck been with Rocky Balboa.  We've got five head due to him on April 17 and was wondering what to expect.
Thanks!

Had and 85 pound heifer out of him last year. It was a pretty hard pull but the birth weight more then likely came from the mother. But if they were mine I would keep a pretty close eye on them.

10 days before due dates we start checking every 2-3 hours, even on mature cows since we have had 130 pound calves some on their own and some extremely hard pulls.  How did the calf turn out?

Had a friend with a heifer out of him. She looked just like Balboa. Really wide and clean fronted, but slightly shallow.

We breed all our heifers to him and will as long as we can. We love them, ours they come easy and get up and get around. They grow good and make nice replacements.

I know there are two sides to this question (bull / cow), but I have a good friend / breeder who stated Rocky B throws some nice calves but they were by far the meanest, awnryest, hot headed calves he has ever raised and quit using him because of that.  I've wanted to try him on some heifers but his statements kinda scared me away as we raise calves for kids.  Anyone else heard this?

Bred two heifers to him.  Got a heifer and a bull calf.  No pulls.  Easy calving.  Heifer calf just won Reserve Bred and Owned Commercial and 5th Overall Bred and Owned at our state show.  Bull calf made a nice steer.  Will use Rocky Balboa again!

Well sounds like everyone has had pretty good luck with him.  I guess only time will tell I will definitely let everyone know how it goes when they hit the ground.

I have loved our Rocky calves. We have a heifer calf this year that was out of a first time heifer. She weighed 65lbs and is very sound and has the best disposition you could ever ask for. My 5 yr old can do anything with her. The Rocky calves will have a ton of HAIR! We did have one 92lb one but he came  2 weeks late. We will continue to use him for our heifers.
