Byland used him alot-tons of daughters-heard he doesnt milk-dont know for sure O0

I saw Rodeo Drive numerous times and used 3 sons over the years. I agree that Rodeo Drive certainly put great udders on his daughters and many of his sons did the same. I can hardly believe that the daughters of Melbar Rodeo Drive 347 were not good milking females as I remember seeing his dam at Melroes and she was a really good cow with a great udder.
I had a Rodeo Drive son, GR Rodeo 4000, who I purchased from Green Ridge, who proved to be one of the easiest calving bulls I have ever used. I kept a son HC Cherokee 125C, and he was also extremely easy calving bull. A rancher from Montana saw Cherokee as a 3 year old and purchased him.  Cherokee sired Shadybrook Optimum 75F who I consider to be one of the best bulls to use on heifers ... even today. Optimum was sold to Semex International and he was never promoted much by Semex as they mainly sold him to dairy herds and in South America. This line has consistently produced calving ease cattle. Optimum was also homozygous polled and a dark cherry red color. He was very moderate framed with excellent muscle pattern. Every calf from Optimum born here, from heifers, was sold or kept here for breeding purposes. Every bull calf was good enough to make the bull pen each fall and every heifer was good enough to retain or sell as a breeding female. There just weren't any throw away calves from him.
Another Rodeo son that I used was HC Merger 93M. Merger had tremendous growth and he sired some of the fastest growing cattle I ever produced. We sold lots and lots of Merger sons to commercial producers and I still have some of them asking if I was still using Merger as they loved the calves they got from his sons. Merger was a gentle giant as he weighed 3100 lbs after a 600 mile trailer ride to Alta Genetics at 4 years of age. We never did get any semen from him as he had started to have testicle degeneration and we ended up having to send him to market. He weighed 3230 lbs after an overnight stand at the local auction mart. I still have a couple Merger daughters in the herd. They still have super udders despite being older cows now.
I found that offspring of Rodeo Drive could vary in frame score, but they almost always had great muscle pattern and style. Some of his calves could be frailer made but if you got a good one, they were usually very good. I still have a couple of Rodeo daughters in my list of best females I have seen.
Here are a couple pictures of Shadybrook Optimum 75F ( as a yearling) and HC Merger 93M ( at 3 years old)
