What angus bull are most angus breeders using on S A V Bismark daughters.
leanbeef said:Good question... I have a Bismarck heifer to breed this fall and haven't decided what I'll use on her yet. I have a growing list of Angus bulls I like, but haven't settled on any yet. Anybody know anything about Coleman Regis?...

might try this bull he is really good. http://www.cattlevisions.com/Angus/firstngoal.php
punch in his AAA number on the Angus web Page for his Epds. He is about a 3.6 for BW but should trend a little lower over time. He is not near as big as his sister either. Really sound, correct and balanced: with tremendous thickness and style.leanbeef said:shoreacres said:formersteerjock said:What angus bull are most angus breeders using on S A V Bismark daughters.

Does he not have any EPDs or does Cattle Visions just not have em listed?
leanbeef said:Hey, thanks for that input. Consensus 7229 is on my short list along with Upshot, Regis and New Day 424. I don't consider myself an Angus man, so it's hard to stay caught up on the Angus bulls sometimes!
I used Pioneer early on. I was impressed with him on Simmental cows...wouldn't be opposed to having some more of those. Just with the limited number of Angus bulls we've used, I'm impressed with Schaff's bulls and I like the Coneally stuff...haven't used many of them but I'm wanting to! I've tried some Objective lines, largely because the numbers look so good. Best ones so far are 2T22 daughter...full brother to Objective we used before I knew who Objective was! We have a couple of 3J15 daughters in our sale this fall and some Fast Track babies on the way. The only Objectives I've had so far is a set of twins, and they're not very impressive.
Probably looking for something to use on both some Angus AND some Simmental females this fall, both heifers and mature cows, but doesn't all have to be just one bull. I'd like to maybe sample two or three...
I still have some 004, Boyd New Day & Garret's Nationwide in the tank...and I'm not sure what else may be in there.
I'm guessing that you own @ least part of this bull.shoreacres said:punch in his AAA number on the Angus web Page for his Epds. He is about a 3.6 for BW but should trend a little lower over time. Nope, only have four registered Angus females at this point. Just think he is a pretty good bull.CAB said:I'm guessing that you own @ least part of this bull.shoreacres said:punch in his AAA number on the Angus web Page for his Epds.
