Salty Dog Heifer
« on: March 07, 2013, 05:42:42 PM »
This heifer is a Salty Dog x Irish Whiskey's full sister. She is three days old in the pictures. Lots of hair, bone, and color. We are really excited about this one.

seen some really cool salty dogs out of a Ice Breaker (ice pick x meyer) and a cheap trick (wmw x meyer). seems to be very consistent and really stamps his calves.

I saw salty dog in Denver the year he was promoted... in my opinion one of the best bulls displayed that year. My question is... does he add the frame? I've always wanted to try him but my cows are larger framed simmy x angus cows.

Thanks for the comments. From our experience salty dog has worked on deep, soggy, smaller framed cows. He seems to add a little frame to our calves. I got to see salty dog when he was just a few days old and this calf has quite the resemblance to him.

Amazing calf  salty dog is an amzing sire. He works really well on smaller framed soggy cows. He stamps em with the look. Id really like to keep tabs on this calf. Very nice.

From the pictures and I realize that the heifer is very young, I think she has a world of potential, but I am a little concerned about how strait she looks. Please keep us posted with her progress through the season. If she can walk she'll be very nice!!

Really? I thought he had some pretty serious issues, especially concerning structure.

I'm with you Olson, I didn't like him at all at the Ohio beef expo when I made my trip west.
