Shorthorn Nationals Proud Mom

Just wanted to put a couple of pics on of our two Ace of Diamonds ShorthornPlus females at nationals. The roan was Champion. Ashley was 4th in Senior Showmanship and Payton was 3rd in PII showmanship, he was also 2nd in judging. They had a great week and a lot of fun. Thanks to the Illinois crew for a great memorable week.

She was AWESOME! 

We have a 3/4 sib bull calf on the ground right now, seems like that AoD x Sonny is still the way to go.  You guys had a great week, congrats!

Congratulations. Looks like the roan heifer and the other heifer will make great cows for you and raise some nice shorthorn club calves.  <party>  (thumbsup)  (clapping)

I watched the Shorthorn Plus show on Liveauctions.tv and was really hoping that roan heifer of yours would be the one picked. Sometimes the pictures on these videos are a bit deceiving but she was definitely the one I picked out. She looks great in the picture you posted as well. Both heifers look like excellent heifers? Congrats to the kids and to your family for a lot of hard work. Hope everyone had lots of fun as well.

Those heifers are living proof that A.O.D. works great on really good cows. And,he will work on non Sonny's also.

Hey, just wanted to congratulate you guys on the win.  I did not know if you knew it or not but we put the video of the grand drive on Saturday up on line on Breeders World.  I videoed the whole show in the same style that this video is and did all of the classes.  I got quite a bit of video on your cattle so if you are interested I can get it to you.  It is pretty cheap and the video is awesome so just let me know.

Congratulations, Kris, Todd, & family!!

Great cattle--better kids!!  I'll bet a little over a month ago you weren't too worried about how things would turn out at Nationals or any other show.  I'm glad things are getting back to normal and you're having the success you are with AOD offspring.  I like your roan heifer more every time I see her!! 

Make sure you give everyone a high five from Oakbar!!!

P.S. Our MAV Charmer cow put another good Tonic calf on the ground for us this year.  In fact, he was the Res. Champion Prospect at our 4-H show.  Bob Sundquist told Briar " Don't sell that calf too cheap---he's very good now and he'll get better the older he gets!!"  He and his mother were also the Res. Cow/calf entry.  It took a really good Pangburn Simmental with two calves to beat them.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. It was a really great week for the whole family. I wasn't able to be around much as I developed walking pneumonia while in Springfield but I did enjoy all the shows and then just went back to the camper.
We are really proud of our cattle out of AOD and are really looking forward to the sale offering this fall. I have some pics of the calves and when I get to feeling better and can crop them I will put them up. They will be in our ad in the Show Circuit.
