I realized this is a very BROAD question, but I am curious (to see if we are on the right track compared to what others do) what do you feed your show calves and what is the %?  Also, how often do you "change" your feed to your calves.  For example, if you bought a show calf in Sept.  On an average, What do you start with and what are your %'s When do you usually stop stressing growth and "change feed or %'s" to start finishing.  How much does the weather (heat) play into your finishing? What is your finishing %'s on a average?

Thanks for your help.

This is a really broad question. Are you talking steers or heifers?
We usually make changes in their feed based on size, growth & fat cover. all changes are done gradually.
Right now my heifers are eating a 12% starter feed. I'll be switching them to a 3 way blend in about a month. It's a 11% protien feed.
