What are some of the more advanced showmanship questions that are often asked? Besides what would you change about your animal and the biggest problem in  the beef, what are some others.

Specific breeding questions.  EPD questions.  There are at times questions about other animals in the ring as well.  I tell my two to give the class a once over when the chance arises.

They should know what EPD's are and what they are used far, definately know the sire and dam of your calf, anatomy of the calf, breed characteristics, I sometimes ask them to give me examples of 3 breeds in each category American, British, European, these days its not uncommon to hear questions from some judges about TH/PHA, i have been asked difference between Bos indicus and Bos taurus, definately know that cattle are ruminants, have 4 stomach compartments and what they are in more advanced classes.  Pretty much if a judge is going to get really advanced with questions, anything cattle related is fair game.

Be prepared for anything but don't drive yourself nuts trying to learn it all because you won't.  A few yrs ago the showmanship judge asked my daughter who weighed about 50 lbs and had a 1500 lbs steer how a little girl got such a big steer.  She looked right at him and proudly said "He liked to eat and i liked to feed him"  Smile and look like you're having fun goes along way.
